A NEIGHBOR'S CALLING MISSION
A Neighbor’s Calling has a mission to provide an incentive to individuals pursuing higher education. Acknowledging the progressive amount of negative reinforcements that discourage the pursuit of a college degree, A Neighbor’s Calling equips graduates with a community housing option designed to assist growing generations with affordable accommodations and outlets connecting them to career opportunities.
WHO WILL A NEIGHBOR'S CALLING BENEFIT?
A Neighbor’s Calling concerns those who obtain a degree through the pursuit of higher education. Education is a supported aspect of life and is seen as an event that contributes to the intentions living the American dream, which entails the aspirations of occupying a career, owning a home and developing a family.
WHY IS A NEIGHBOR'S CALLING NEEDED?
The American dream is diminishing; tuition has increased dramatically and the probability of locating a career is small, over- whelming the graduate with debt equivalent of a home. With debt as substantial as it is, the graduate’s financial freedom is restricted for the next 25 years, a period that, for some individuals, concludes during the time of retirement. A graduate who has aspirations of the traditional American dream, quickly discover the reality of their situation; the American dream is, in fact, just a dream.
Heidi Moore, The Guardian’s U.S. nance and economics editor, agrees. According to Heidi, “the financial benchmarks of adulthood have changed for millennials. This is a generation that has grown up with heavier student loan debt than any previous generation.“ She continues by mentioning the costs of traditional rituals, which involve having a wedding, financing a home, and bearing children. With a financial burden as great as student loans and the probable cause of not obtaining a well-paying job, millennials are delaying progress by spending money on expensive rent instead of the economy.
ARE TINY HOMES THE SOLUTION OR A CONCEPT?
Tiny Homes are a trend, providing a chance for all generations to cut costs and escape debt by living minimalistic. However, Tiny Home prices cast an intimidating shadow, deteriorating the reason for such an option.
Realtor.com proclaims “the average cost of constructing your own tiny house is $25,000 in material. It’s a different story when you buy one from a builder.” When reviewing builder options, models can scale between the price range of $57,000-$124,000 or higher, depending on the amenities chosen.
With a concerning price spectrum that requires the aid of a secondary loan amount, which is often denied due to current student loan obligations, the Tiny Home option appears to be a concept, revealing attractive ambitions that could be applied to living accommodations provided by A Neighbor’s Calling.
HOW WILL A NEIGHBOR'S CALLING FUNCTION WITH COMPANIES?
Companies have the opportunity to sponsor A Neighbor’s Calling. Through sponsorship, companies not only have access to an assortment of educated, qualified individuals, but also receive popular recognition. As mentioned above, it’s a concern to support those who obtain a degree through higher education. While A Neighbor’s Calling provides affordable accommodations, it’s an additional opportunity to connect graduates with employers.
A Neighbor’s Calling is purposed to be a rent-to-own process. All proceeds donated to A Neighbor’s Calling will be used as financial stimulant assisting the construction of these communities.
